		<description><![CDATA[Everyone knew: There is something wrong in Japan. The energy industry had bought the entire country to promote nuclear power. This system of lobbying was called the &quot;Atomic Village&quot; (genshiryoku mura). Even the media was part of it and became cheerleaders of the nuclear complex. Journalists belong to reporter clubs which are closely intertwined with the industry. Until Fukushima there was no independant, investigative, critical journalistic force in Japan -- then the explosion occured and changed everything, reports the German &quot;Journalist&quot; (9-2012, p 72ff: In the atomic village). The catastrophe woke the country up. The daily newspaper Asahi Shimbun with a circulation of eight million established an investigative department which broke with the atomic village habit. An investigative account about the truth behind Fukushima &quot;The Prometheus Trap&quot; became a bestseller. One of Asahi Shimbun journalistic staff members, Mariko Takahashi, sat on the EUSJA panel in Dublin.]]></description>
