Job: Nordic news reporter – Research Europe

Research Europe is an independent newsletter covering research policy and funding. Published fortnightly in print and daily online, it is essential reading at universities, science-funding agencies, government departments and research charities across Europe.
We have a vacancy for reporter to cover research policy in the Scandinavian countries — primarily Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland — for our English-language online and paper publications. The position may be based either in our London office, or in one of the countries to be covered.
Applicants should have a good degree; some journalistic experience; the ability to write daily news to tight deadlines, as well as news analysis; and a passion for the detail of research policy and politics. They should speak at least one Scandinavian language, and be able to write and speak English fluently.
Applicants should send a covering letter, CV and three samples of their work to Colin Macilwain at editorialjobs@researchresearch.com by January 25th. Please state in the application how you learned of this opportunity.
Assessment tests and first interviews will be held in February.
As we expect to receive a large volume of applications, we will only be contacting short-listed applicants. If you haven’t heard from us within 7 days of the closing date, you have probably been unsuccessful on this occasion, but we will keep your CV on file for relevant future opportunities.
Research Europe is part of the Research family of publications. For more information go to www.researchresearch.com and www.researchresearch.com/blog
