Win travel grants for Oslo!

 

Two travel grants offered to science journalists to attend the Abel Prize week in Oslo, Norway, 18-20 May 2020.

The Abel Prize is an annual international prize for outstanding scientific work in the field of mathematics. In addition to honoring outstanding mathematicians, the Abel Prize shall contribute towards raising the status of mathematics in society and stimulating the interest of children and young people in mathematics.

Journalists receiving a scholarship will have the opportunity to interview the Laureate(s) and have access to all the events, including the award ceremony, the banquet, and the Abel lectures. The grant covers travel expenses. The hotel in Oslo is being provided by the Abel Prize organisers.

To apply, please send the following to cbourillon@wfsj.org : a copy of your CV, a letter indicating your interest in the field and your experience in covering mathematics, your name, media, country, the name of your national WFSJ member association, and your contact information.  If the association is not a member of WFSJ, EUSJA members may indicate EUSJA that is a member of World Federation of Science Journalists.

Application deadline: 18 March 2020.

 

Applications will be reviewed between 18 March -1 April 2020 by a WFSJ selection committee.

Winners will be notified during the first week of April.
