Study trip to Cadarache


ITER

The EUSJA Board has organized a visit to Cadarache in the South of France where ITER project is under construction. It is an unique and outstanding project, which is at the forefront of energy technology research in the world. ITER, one of the world’s biggest scientific collaborations, has a key role to play in establishing fusion as a sustainable energy source. Being located on EU territory is a result of the international cooperation for research it will be the world’s largest experimental fusion facility. Fusion research is aimed at developing a safe, abundant and environmentally responsible energy source. ITER is also a first-of-a-kind global collaboration. Europe will contribute almost half of the costs of its construction, while the other six Members to this joint international venture (China, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and the USA), will contribute equally to the rest.

The EUSJA study trip to Cadarache has 2 days program – 22 and 23 of April. 15 EUSJA journalists will get free accommodation for 2 night (exceptionally 3 nights because of flight schedules) and meal the days of the study trip. The participants have to get Aix-en-Provence (where will be accommodated in a hotel), they will be picked up and get back to the hotel by the organizers. The program with confirmed speakers has been sent out to EUSJA national associations. The applications must be sent via national associations to Viola Egikova by March 31.
